The 'blanket fort situation room'
Senate President Stuart Adams has never been forced into a primary. He's one of the most powerful politicians in Utah, controls PACs with hundreds of thousands of dollars, and typically cruises to reelection by 50-point margins.
This time might be different.
Adams is facing three Republican challengers for the nomination in Senate District 7. And if you've been paying attention to the controversies that have plagued him over the last few years, you know exactly why this is happening.
In this week's episode of "Special Session":
- Why Adams is vulnerable: From the controversial law change that helped his step-granddaughter avoid felony charges for child rape, to the campaign finance violations he got caught committing (but faced no real consequences for).
- The most competitive legislative races: As the candidate filing period wraps up, we're following every race worth watching on our 2026 candidate tracker.
- Redistricting court battle update: What's happening with the legislature's appeal of the judge's ruling, and what happens if the current maps stand?
- The blanket fort situation room: Because apparently we're doing foreign policy by whim now, and yes, that Mar-a-Lago "secure area" was as ridiculous as it sounds.
- The Nick Shirley Grift: Why the new conservative hero of the week is just another pseudo-journalist trading in confirmation bias and sensationalism with zero actual reporting.
