Utahns for Representative Government, the group behind the campaign to repeal Utah’s anti-gerrymandering law, says it has “many tens of thousands” of signatures in the pipeline. That’s a conveniently fuzzy number—and with the deadline just days away, those signatures need to come into focus, and soon.

Per updated figures from the Utah Lt. Governor’s office, the campaign added just 1,174 verified signatures on Monday. They’re at 77,253 verified—54.9% of the 140,748 statewide requirement—leaving 63,495 still needed. With six days to go before the Feb. 15 submission deadline, that’s more than 10,500 new verified signatures every day.

The law also requires 8% of voters in 26 of Utah’s 29 state Senate districts. So far, they’ve qualified in only three; a fourth (SD26) is 126 short. Even if they somehow hit the statewide pace, most districts would remain below the threshold, leaving the campaign far from the 26-district mark.

County clerks get up to 21 days to verify after packets land on Sunday, which means we may not know until late February or early March whether Prop 4’s repeal makes the ballot.
